MC Markets Deposit FAQ: Answers on USDT/USDC Deposits

Understanding a few “whys” prevents losses better than memorizing steps. For step-by-step instructions, see “The Five-Step Deposit Tutorial.”

Introduction

Q1: Why are only these five coins supported?

A: BTC, ETH, SOL, USDT, and USDC are five mainstream assets with high liquidity, broad network coverage, and a high share of user holdings. Both USDT and USDC are pegged to the US dollar and work identically on the platform — just use whichever you already have; there's no need to convert specially.

Q2: Why can't funds be recovered if the network is chosen wrong?

A: The same token exists on multiple chains, each with a different address format, and they don't interconnect. Sending on the wrong network is like mailing a letter to a house number that doesn't exist — the post office won't return it, and the letter simply vanishes. Once a blockchain transaction is confirmed it is irreversible, and the platform cannot recover it. The core rule: the sending network must exactly match the network selected on the deposit page.

Q3: Why does arrival take 1 to 5 minutes?

A: External deposits require the blockchain to complete a certain number of block confirmations, and the platform only credits the funds once that threshold is met. Different networks have different speeds — Arbitrum is usually a few seconds, while Bitcoin can take tens of minutes. The platform charges no deposit fee; on-chain gas is borne by the sender.

Q4: Why is it recommended to transfer a small amount first?

A: When depositing to a new address for the first time, send 5 to 10 USDC as a test and only transfer a large amount after confirming it arrived. One test's gas fee is like buying insurance for your entire transfer — it confirms the address is correct, the network matches, and the process runs smoothly.

Q5: Where does the money go after a deposit?

A: By default, into the Spot Account. When you want to trade perps, transfer USDC to the Perps Account on the assets page — instant and free. Withdrawals are also initiated only from the Spot Account.

Q6: What do I do if something goes wrong?

A: If it hasn't arrived after more than 10 minutes, first use the transaction hash (TxHash) to check its confirmation status on a block explorer; if it's confirmed on-chain but not credited on the platform, contact support via a ticket and include the TxHash; when unsure, ask support first and don't retry repeatedly.
